The Student Activities Center is hosting a Painting a Canvas event today, which is open to everyone.
This isn’t the first time that student activities has hosted an event like this, in fact. The event is from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM in the Jefferson Student Union. They offer various sizes of
canvases, with paint, markers, color pencils, and other art supplies, according to Kaitlyn Lunsford from Student Activities.
During the event, they play music and offer drinks and snacks for everyone. There is no prior skill-set necessary for the event. Any level of experience can attend.
The turnout for the event last year was around 30 people, and Lunsford hopes to bring more people this year.
“It’s always hard to judge with events, because sometimes it boils down even to just whether people work. But usually, what happens is we get one person from one friend group to
show interest and then everybody kind of comes,” said Lunsford.
Student activities hopes to collaborate with Vincennes University’s Art Club in the future, with hopes to host a live, Bob Ross inspired instruction open to all students.
