The Vincennes University Bowling Center commenced its construction project on Sept. 8, and after nearly a month of work, the old bowling machines have been successfully replaced with new and improved string pin machines.
These pinsetters use a system where a string or cord is attached to the top of each pin, enabling the machine to raise and reset the pins that were not knocked down.
With the replacement of the old machines, the new machines should run and operate a lot more smoothly, allowing students and the community to have a better experience when playing a game of bowling.
“The new machines will allow students to enjoy their time without being interrupted by a machine breaking down,” said VU Facilities Coordinator Michael Taylor.
The bowling alley is open 4-10 p.m. Monday-Thrusday and 4-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Students receive a discount with a student ID.
Due to the new construction, people are asked to be courteous to the employees since the machines are new to everyone and they are still learning how to make the new bowling system an enjoyable experience for everyone.
