The Communication Club is open to all students at Vincennes University, encouraging and supporting communication activities and helping students find and prepare for jobs.
The club’s current advisor is Ann Hefner, an assistant professor in the speech department here at VU.
“The club is still getting together and is actively looking for new members to join and welcomes anyone,” said Hefner.
Hefner said she envisions members getting together and watching and discussing Ted Talk videos, welcoming guest speakers to interact with members, hosting a workshop on how to create a podcast, holding mock interviews, and doing community service projects, such as making handmade holiday cards to give to nursing homes.
Hefner also said with a smile,” There will be lots of pizza parties for the members of this club, too.”
The ultimate goal for students joining the Communication Club is to have fun, make friends, help the community, and build their knowledge in the communication work field.
“I enjoy getting to know students outside of class and being able to participate in activities that help students and the community,” Hefner said.
For questions or to join the Communication Club, contact Hefner at either 812-888-4234 or send an email to [email protected].
Currently, the club holds meetings at 11 a.m. on the first Tuesday of every month at Davis Hall, in Room 215.
