Students in the university’s Study Skills classes are currently collecting food donations in partnership with the United Way of Knox County.
The donations are being collected as part of the United Way’s annual Day of Caring events.
Students have dropped off collection boxes at each college office and the university’s Welsh Administration Building.
Students are asked to consider donating non-perishable food items, personal hygiene items, and baby items; a full list of requested donations is listed on each box.
The donations will be distributed to area food pantries, including the university’s own Sandy’s Pantry, which collects and distributes food to students in partnership with St. Johns United Church of Christ, 606 N. Fifth St.
The food boxes will be collected by students on Thursday.
