Book Review: ‘A Song Of Ice and Fire’ book series offers exciting plotlines, believable characters

“A Song Of Ice and Fire” is a book series that comes from the mind of George R. R. Martin. This series consists of five books which are “A Game Of Thrones,” “A Clash of Kings,” “A Storm of Swords,” “A Feast For Crows,” and “A Dance With Dragons.” The last two books are scheduled for unknown release dates.

“A Game Of Thrones” is the first book and it sets the tone for the rest of the series. It is set in a world where summer and winter are sometimes years long at a time, and where a 700 foot wall keeps out enemies.

When the hand of the king turns up dead unexpectedly, Eddard Stark must do his duty and become the new hand of the king. Along the way he discovers some shocking evidence that will affect the whole seven kingdoms, and cause an all out war between The Starks of Winterfell and The Lannisters of Casterly Rock.

This series tends to follow many different characters throughout each book. I had multiple different characters that I liked throughout the series. The one that really left me wanting more of this character by the end was Jamie Lannister. He is a character I didn’t think I would end up liking, but by the end of the fifth book his last chapter left me wondering what was going to happen. Overall each character felt like they left a mark on me by the end of the fifth book.

These books left me definitely wanting more and kept me turning the page every time something happened.

These books range from many different types of scenes in them, from big battles to general confrontation between characters. Each of them is written very well and makes the reader feel like they are there with the characters. It will keep the reader from putting it down. With the last two books not having been released yet, readers are still waiting to find out the epic conclusion to this story.

I would recommend these books to anyone who is interested in kings, queens, betrayal, and even dragons. This is definitely a book series meant for adults and not just the kind who like this stuff. I never saw myself getting into things related to this until I watched the TV show these books are based off of. The “Song of Ice and Fire” books have been one of the best book series I have read in a long time, and I look forward to reading them from the beginning again hopefully here soon.
