Sweetwater Sound representative speaks on career opportunities

On Wednesday, Oct. 31, Jeff McDonald, Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Sweetwater Sound, came to the Shircliff Humanities building to give a presentation over the company to students. SweetWater Sound is a music company that focuses on music recording. It was founded in 1979 and is located in Fort Wayne, according to the company’s website. Sweetwater Sound is known for being the number one online audio equipment retailer and for building strong relationships with different companies and universities. The company gives students with audio recording majors opportunities to work at Sweetwater. They don’t just offer music related jobs, but other jobs outside of music such as IT and writing positions.

Students and faculty treated to Halloween event

Students were treated to a Halloween event on Tuesday, Oct. 30 at the Summers Social Science Center. The event, sponsored by the College of Social Science, Performing Arts and Communication was held mainly for students with undecided majors, but every student was welcome. Students filled their bags with candy from faculty and staff and played Plinko to win prizes, including VU T-shirts. Overall, the students seemed to have had a great experience.

Students reflect on Explore Japan 2018

Over the summer, several students were given the chance to stay in Japan from May 16-31. The Trailblazer was able to attend a presentation given by Yoshiko Cockerham, Japanese Language and History professor, and her students. During this presentation, they described their experiences in Japan to give other Vincennes University students and faculty a better understanding of what their annual trip entails.

Sandy’s Pantry supplies VU students with needed food items
