Vincennes University on Saturday will be hosting its annual fundraiser, Blaze to a Community Cancer Cure.
The event will be held at the P.E, Complex and is a way for the community to come together and fight one of the world’s most devastating diseases.
People are invited to fill the stands as both the VU men’s and women’s basketball teams compete against their rival, Wabash Valley College, in the NJCAA Region 24 match-up. During the games, and also before, fans can visit informational booths and make donations, too. T-Shirts will also be for sale, and spectators can take part in the traditional half-court shot as well as mini challenges for children between quarter changes.
The fundraiser will also include a silent auction to help assist families in the Vincennes community who are facing cancer-related issues.
A portion of the funds raised from the annual event will be donated towards cancer research, treatments, and also local support services.
The women’s game starts at 5 p.m., with the men following at 7 p.m.
Spectators can purchase tickets at the door.
