The university hosted their annual Clubs and Org Fair last week, ushering in and to Welcome Week activities on campus.
From Gaming Club to Photo Club, students had a variety or extracurricular activities to peruse as they searched for what might best fit their interests. The fair also featured representatives from SGA and CAB, which are student-run groups organized by Student Activities.
These groups help to plan various events around campus, as well as coordinate with other university groups, such as the Blue Crew, the spirit team that attends basketball games to liven up the student section.
The majority of on-campus student-centered events are overseen by Student Activities Director Elizabeth Hutchinson.
She said the Club and Org Fair is a great way for students to expose themselves to all the various ways they can get more involved in their chosen majors, or something else they might be interested in. It’s also a great way to meet other students and faculty members.
But the opportunities to connect certainly don’t end there, she said.
“We also offer the opportunity for students who want to start up clubs that aren’t official yet to campaign and gather interest for it,” she said.
“That way, they have a little traction going when they go to present the idea to us,” she went on. “It’s really easy to start a club on campus. All you need is four members and an advisor.
“We’ve had many clubs come and go but it’s always great seeing the students involved,” she said.
The university will again host the Clubs and Org Fair early in the Fall 2025 semester.

Students can also visit in-person; the Student Activities Office is located in the P.E. Complex.
