Free Food Options for VU Students
If you’re a VU student and need help with groceries, here are a couple ways your school can help you. Vincennes University has partnered with two organizations, Sandy’s Food Pantry and Helping His Hands. Both organizations provide VU students with needed food. All they ask for in exchange is to see your student ID.
Sandy’s Food Pantry holds an open food pantry once a month at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Vincennes. Students are welcome to come by between 11:00 a.m.and 12:30 p.m. on selected dates. They are able to choose 25 non perishable food items out of a wide variety.
Helping His Hands is another partnered organization through VU. They hold food drives every Tuesday 10:00 a.m. to noon and again at 2:30 p.m.4:00 p.m. They give bags of food to students using their food truck that is parked in the lot of the Business Building. Students are allowed to come every week and there is a large variety of food items.
