As fall leaves fill the sidewalks and the cold breeze gazes at the town, the campus is starting to feel the spooky season.
During the remainder of October, the campus will be having things students can engage in to get into the Halloween spirit. Many resident halls have already started events; Godare Hall last week hosted their pumpkin painting event for all campus
residents.
Godare Hall will also be hosting a “Fright night” on the Oct. 27 from 7-9 p.m. where students can come and watch Halloween movies; snacks are provided for the event and it is free to join.
Clark Hall will also be screening Halloween movies on Oct. 16 as well from 7-9 p.m. for students on campus.
The annual Monster Mash will be on Oct.30 in the Jefferson Student Union from 4:30- 6:30 p.m. The event is a costume contest and party with food and drink provided by Student Activities. There will also be awards for the best costumes and other prizes students can win.
Following the Monster Mash, the event will continue in the Red Skeleton Theatre for the production of “Little Shop of Horrors.”
Also for Oct.30 from 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., the College Of Social Science, Performing Arts and Communication will be hosting a Trick or Treat Meet and Greet, where students can come and talk to professors and also meet other students who are in their
same shoes.
“The event started in 2019 as a way to connect students and faculty in the college and for students who are thinking about switching their major can come and ask questions,” SSPAC Dean Dr. Cynthia Ragle said. “Students and faculty can also dress up
and there’s candy involved.
“Students who have come in past years said that this was a great way for them to get a better connection to a professor they might not have gotten a chance to engage with,” she said.
The event is open to only students and faculty on campus, and all majors are encouraged to attend.
