Vincennes University students will have the opportunity to give back to their community on Monday as part of the 5th Annual Blazers Give Day.
This Day of Service will connect students with local organizations, allowing them to give back to the community that supports them.
Students will volunteer at community agencies, including the YMCA and Vincennes Animal Shelter.
Volunteers are asked to gather at 8 a.m. at the VU Foundation office, located at 1109 N. Third St., where they will be treated to donuts, milk, and juice before heading out to their assigned locations.
Leslie Kidwell, director of development said, “We are providing all volunteers with a #BlazersGive T-shirt to wear.”
Students must pre-register to receive a shirt and will be split into groups for each organization.
Transportation to and from volunteer sites will be provided, and participants will return to the Foundation office by 11:30 a.m.
This event is more than just a volunteer opportunity it’s a chance to connect with fellow students and network with community organizations, organizers say.
